Congrats to 6ABC's Brian Taff who announced that he and his wife, Mara, are expecting twins in the summer. Mara is also a 6ABC staffer, although she's in the Creative Services Department.
Taff wrote a nice little note on his Facebook page about his impending fatherhood:
There are certain things in life that seem forever relegated to the "One Day" category. One day, I'll get to Hawaii. One day, I'll write a book. One day, I'll retire. The list is long, and filled mostly with things that are there for good reason -- they are either too time consuming, or too expensive, or, dare I say, too adult to accomplish now.
Well, I am happy to share with you here today that I am joyfully checking off one of the things on my own "One Day" list ... and this one feels especially adult-ish: This summer, my wife and I will grow our family. And, we will grow it perhaps faster than we expected, as WE ARE HAVING TWINS!
To say that I am excited is an insufficient description. I am beyond ecstatic. And, more than that, I am elated to get to do this with the woman of my dreams. My wife has blessed my life in so many ways. And now, here we have two little blessings that will beget many more.
We'll share more as we learn of it -- and I'll be the first to tell you, I have much to learn. I'm grateful in advance for your thoughts and well-wishes. More than anything else in life, I want to be the best husband and father I can be. That's not easy, but I can't wait to spend every day trying.
...And so begins the next adventure!
Taff joins the rest of the 6ABC baby train that has been rolling steadily as of late. Ducis Rodgers welcomed his second son right after the new year, Alicia Vitarelli gave birth to her first child last month and Nydia Han and Jamie Apody are both expecting their second child.
Taff co-anchors the 4 p.m. broadcast and has been with the station since 2009. Vitarelli gave Taff a bit of a shock when she announced her own pregnancy, too bad she’s on maternity leave so Taff couldn’t return the favor.
