Actor Anwan Glover who played gangster Slim Charles on 'The Wire' was stabbed at a Washington D.C. club early Sunday morning.

Actor Anwan Glover who played gangster Slim Charles on ‘The Wire’ was stabbed at a Washington D.C. club early Sunday morning.

Glover, 41, was at Café Asia when, according to a police report, someone he didn’t know hit him. When he turned to face his attacker, another individual struck him in the back of the head. He fell and was kicked multiple times before someone yelled, “He has a knife,” and Glover was stabbed on his right side.

The Washington D.C. native is currently being treated at George Washington University Hospital and his condition is unknown.

‘The Wire’ actor, an active proponent of anti-violence, has appeared on ‘Law and Order: SVU,’ the television series ‘Elementary’ and the Oscar winning film, ‘12 Years a Slave’ where he played a character named Cape.
