Actor and investor Ashton Kutcher cancelled his appearance at the University of Pennsylvania, slated for tomorrow, according to an e-mail sent out Monday night.

“It is with great disappointment that we share the news that, due to unforeseen circumstances, Mr. Kutcher will not be able to join us as scheduled this Wednesday (9/18). He has expressed his sincere apologies for having to cancel and we are working with him to find a date to reschedule his visit to Penn in the next few weeks," the announcement read.

Pretty boy Kutcher was slated to speak at Lauren and Bobby Turner Social Impact Executive Speaker Series. According to the Metro, 3,000 students and faculty had registered for the event.

A call to Wharton led to little information about the Kutcher cancellation. A rep said she learned of the cancellation along with the students, but local writer Laura S. Goldman seems to have the scoop:

@aplusk cancels his talk @penn on Wednesday due to death in the family My condolences #ashtonkutcher
