Rocker Nikki Sixx's ex-wife Brandi Brant has been sentenced to six years behind bars in Australia for her role in an international drug trafficking ring.
The former Playboy model pleaded guilty in April to an allegation of conspiring to import drugs as part of a syndicate that smuggled $130,000 worth of cocaine shipments onto Qantas and United Airlines passenger planes flying between California and Sydney in 2007. They reportedly had airline catering employees collect the packages upon landing Down Under.
Brandt, 45, faced life in prison if convicted, but on Friday, Sydney District Court Judge Peter Zahra ruled that her role in the trafficking ring was "substantially lower" than others involved and ordered her to serve a minimum of three-and-a-half years of her six-year term. However, she will become eligible for parole in November, 2016.
Sixx and Brandt, who have three children together, were married from 1989 to 1996.
