Pan cast and crew take Ice Bucket Challenge in chilly field

HUGH JACKMAN, ROONEY MARA and the entire cast and crew of director JOE WRIGHT's PAN took the ultimate Ice Bucket Challenge for ALS research on Monday (18Aug14) when they took part in a chilly charity dunk in a field in England. With dark clouds above them and a wind at their backs the two stars, Garrett Hedlund and newcomer Levi Miller set up the challenge with Jackman revealing they had been nominated by "Russell (Crowe), Tim and Cousin Clare", adding, "We see your challenge and we raise you the entire cast and crew of Pan." The whole team ran into shot, some of them wearing nothing but underwear and dunked several buckets of icy water over their heads as fireworks were set off in the background. The Pan quartet want more groups to take the charity challenge to raise awareness and funds for ALS, aka Lou Gehrig's Disease, nominating "Tom Cruise and the whole cast of Mission: Impossible 5" and "Oscar Isaac and the whole cast and crew of Star Wars", as well as Jackman's agents at William Morris Endeavor. Jackman, who plays pirate Blackbeard in the new Peter Pan origins film, posted footage of the Pan cast and crew stunt online on Monday, the same day that Ben Affleck also accepted the challenge. In his video, the newest Batman nominated "Folks who I know from firsthand experience look good in a wet t-shirt," including comedian Jimmy Kimmel, Neil Patrick Harris, Matt Damon, and "the lady with the bucket". Affleck's wife Jennifer Garner appeared and enthusiastically doused her husband in ice water, just before he pulled her into the swimming pool behind them. Other celebrities who took the plunge for ALS over the weekend (15-17Aug14) included Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Gwen Stefani and Carrie Underwood, among others.
