Pals Matt Damon and Ben Affleck are bringing their filmmaking contest and docu-series Project Greenlight back to the small screen over a decade after the series first aired. The stars served as executive producers on the show in 2001 and 2002 and they are returning for a new season, which will chronicle the struggles of a first-time director who wins the show's digital competition.

Affleck says, "Project Greenlight was ahead of its time. Now that technology has caught up to the concept, we thought it was a perfect time to bring it back. A whole new generation of filmmakers has grown up sharing everything, and the next big director could be just an upload away."

Damon adds, "Project Greenlight works - careers have been launched and sustained as a direct result of this contest... (A lot of) PGL alums (have) gone on to do great things in Hollywood, and Ben and I are really proud of that."
