Comedian Cedric the Entertainer has become the latest U.S. TV host to step down after announcing he'll be departing game show Who Wants to be a Millionaire after just one season.

The funnyman replaced former presenter Meredith Vieira on the show in September, but now he insists he is too busy to stay on as host. Making the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, he said, "It has truly been a fantastic ride hosting Millionaire this year - a really great time! Thanks so much to all the fans, contestants, crew, and everyone involved for making it such a fun and gratifying experience." Cedric's other projects include two TV series, his own podcast, and multiple films, such as an upcoming movie starring Chris Rock, and a potential Barbershop sequel. The news comes just two days after Craig Ferguson announced his intention to step down as the host of America's The Late Late Show.
