Gregg Allman dismisses band break-up rumors

Veteran rocker GREGG ALLMAN has silenced reports suggesting THE ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND is preparing to split after celebrating its 45th anniversary. Longtime guitarists Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks announced in January (14) that they will be departing the iconic group at the end of the year (14), and drummer Butch Trucks recently fueled rumors the Ramblin' Man hitmakers might call it quits after admitting 2014 "may very well be our final year". However, frontman Gregg Allman, who has struggled with health issues in recent years, has put an end to the speculation by insisting they will continue rocking out once they find replacements for the exiting members. He tells Radio.com, "As for the rumor of the brothers breaking up after 45 years, in other words, after this year, that is a rumor. We are not breaking up." The Allman Brothers Band previously parted ways in the 1970s and 1980s, but the rockers have remained together since its second reunion in 1989.
