Iverson out of house and home

POSTED: Wednesday, February 6, 2013, 9:32 AM

Allen Iverson is having a no good, very bad week.

The former Sixers No. 3 lost his Atlanta mansion at a foreclosure auction, according to TMZ. Foreclosure proceedings began in December after Iverson defaulted on his $1.2 million mortage. TMZ reported Iverson was able to stave off foreclosure in December by filing a lawsuit claiming he never consented to the terms of the loan set up by his now-estranged wife Tawanna. Iverson bought the house, worth $4.5 milllion in December 2010. Sources told the gossip website that Iverson's bank bought the mansion for $2.5 mil.

This news comes after the ATL judge presiding over Iverson's divorce slammed the erstwhile basketball great over his parenting skills.

Now A.I. can join the 7,287 ex-professional athletes who each earned gigantic salaries....and lost it all because they had the mind and common sense of a 9 year old and a huge checkbook. Paying for a posse, expensive clubbing, Lamborghini's ..baby mamma's and babys, gambling, and spending in general like a drunken sailor is more expensive than these arrogant clowns realize. There's a great YouTube about the sad end of once rich athletes....some of whom are now reduced to dumpster diving, or sitting in some hotel, signing autographs. Brains and athletic ability don't seem to be distributed to the same person in many cases. Hats off to the few who had the maturity to realize that the train ride eventually ends.

and then there are the ex-'athletes' (barely) like Clueless Rube who is not content to ruin himself with the "common sense of a 9 year old and a huge checkbook" and instead destroys a franchise...

Hate to hear this, AI is a Philly icon and gave true Sixer fans a ton of great memories. Hope things work out for him.

...if this guy has a trust fund that pays him $1M a year, then why was he begging the Sixers for a job last week?...
