Local TV stations holding Sandy relief telethons Friday, Monday

CBS 3 and CBS owned radio stations in the area are collaborating Friday on "Operation Brotherly Love," to raise money for the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

Wawa will staff a phone bank until 6:30 p.m. Friday taking calls at 877-KYW3-ASK (1-877-599-3275) or donate $10 to the cause by texting REDCROSS to 90999. 

CBS 3/CW Philly anchors Susan Barnett, Chris May, Pat Ciarrocchi, Ukee Washington and Erika von Tiehl will be joined by 98.1 WOGL’s Ross Brittain and Valerie Knight, SportsRadio 94 WIP/610WIP's Angelo Cataldi, Anthony Gargano, Glen Macnow and Ike Reese, Talk Radio 1210 AM’s Buzz Bissinger, Dom Giordano and Chris Stigall.

CBS 3 's Operation Brotherly Love has previously raised millions after fundraisers following the 9/11 attacks, Asian tsunami, Hurricane Katrina and Haiti earthquake.

6ABC from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Friday hosts an on-air fundraiser for the Red Cross at which it expects Olympic soccer gold medalist Carli Lloyd, Flyers coach Peter Laviolette, 93.3 WMMR's Pierre Robert, Temple basketball coach Fran Dunphy and chefs and restaurateurs Kevin Sbraga and Michael Schulson.

And on Monday, NBC10 hosts a fundraiser from 6 a.m. to midnight, taking calls at 877-NBC-WCAU (1-877-622-9228). At 8 p.m. Friday NBC airs a nationally televised fundraiser featuring performances by Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi to raise money for Sandy relief. It will be simulcast on The Comcast Network.
