Kelly Preston: Weaning baby won’t be easy
“I love the closeness,” says Kelly Preston of the joy and love she feels when breast-feeding her “miracle baby,” 16-month-old son, Benjamin Hunter Kaleo, whom she delivered Nov. 23, 2010 at age 48.
The bond forged through breast-feeding will be hard to sever, not just on the child, John Travolta’s wife tells People mag.
“When I stop, it’s going to be really hard on me. I love nursing so much. … and knowing that I’m giving him the best as far as nutrients and antibodies. And he really loves it, too.”
Kelly, who’ll turn 50 in October and Johh, aren’t taking any chances with Ben, keeping him close: He shares the couple’s bed, says Preston who nurses him up to five times during the day and twice during those long nights parents of newborns have come to adore.
“He’ll come up and point and go, ‘Mama, more,’” says Preston. “It’s so cute!”
Ben also loves solids, especially filet mignon, scallops and salmon (good palate, young master!).
And he’s grooving on language acquisition
“New words are coming so fast,” says Preston. “He loves ‘B’ words — basketball, bus, belly button, bird. He talks to birds and looks at them in the sky, and loves airplanes, busses, balls and lizards … and his favorite star is Elmo.”
