Here’s a not-so-new report that’s been making the rounds a few years.
Nearly three years after the National Enquirer alleged that Morgan Freeman was dating his step-granddaughter (“Morgan Freeman ‘incest’ shocker,” read the understated headline), come reports that the 74-year-old Oscar-winning actor plans to wed the 27-year-old in the very near future.
Citing “insiders” in Morgan’s life, the Enquirer claimed in June 2009 that Freeman’s affair with the then-25-year-old E'Dena Hines had been going on for nearly a decade, implying he began sleeping with her when she was 15 or 16, adding to the creep-out factor.
The glossy tabloid claimed Myrna filed for divorce in 2008 over the affair.
E’Dena’s mother, Deena, was adopted by Freeman when he married her biological mother, Jeanette Adair Bradshaw in 1967. Their marriage ended in 1979 and Freeman wed Myrna Colley-Lee in 1984.
The same exact reports – that the alleged couple were to wed – surfaced in the fall of 2009 and in late 2010, when Freeman’s divorce with Myrna was finally finalized. (See Wendy Williams discuss the story on her show in July 2010.)
Freeman has not discussed the matter.

- Don't rush to judgement just yet...I have heard over and over again that this is all garbage. Please consider the source of the rumors. Morgan has repeatedly denied this allegation. Only time will tell if this disgusting story holds any merit. If this is, in fact all BS, I hope Morgan sues the pants off of the Enquirer. And if it really is true, I hope Mr. Freeman will get what he deserves and spends some quality time in jail. But, let's give him the benefit of the doubt before burning him at the stake.— lola01
- It's somewhat offensive to call E'Dena Hines the "step-granddaughter" of Morgan Freeman. She may not be his biological granddaughter, but Freeman adopted her mother, so she's his granddaughter, period.
Using the term "step-granddaughter" implies that a man with adopted children is a stepfather to those children, rather than a father.
Anyway, re: the comments comparing him to Woody Allen - this is actually much more disturbing than what Woody Allen did (if he is, in fact, sleeping with her). Woody Allen never adopted or raised Soon-Yi. - So it's ok if a 15 or 16 yr old wants to have sex with someone her own age but not an older man ? Kinda like the blind leading the blind...girls are Not having sex any sooner, just lots more are doing it, as young as 11 or 12. Early physical maturity has a lot to do with it also. Legal choice to have sex starts at different ages from state to state, the youngest being 13. While no parent wants their child to have sex that young, it is legal. Half you boys making these comments have probably had sex at a young age, with young girls. Suppose legally you couldn't without going to jail ? How many would abstain if some hot little gal wanted you ? Not many I'll bet. When Groucho Marx was 81 he was asked about sex at his age. He said "Put a naked 18 yr old under me & watch"....why should a young person who wants sex with an experienced person be denied.
