Philly-proud band Boyz II Men, who are considered to be the the top-selling rhythm & blues group of all time with more than 60 million albums sold, are getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
The 2,456th star is scheduled to be dedicated to the boys today at a swank ceremony.
The star is being placed near stars dedicated to fellow R&B greats the Temptations, Stevie Wonder, the Supremes, and the Miracles.
Others set to receive a star in 2012 include Wilmington native Valerie Bertinelli.
Did you know you have to pay to get a star? The Associated Press says honorees, who are nominated to get a star by a committee, must foot a $30,000 bill if they want it installed.
LAist.com has posted a nice collection of Boyz II Men videos, including this blast from the past, a vid of the band’s 1991 hit, “Motown Philly.” (Check out all those neon oranges, pastel dresses and shoulder pads ...)
