Ashton Kutcher's guest stint as editor of Details mag's online edition may get him in hot water with gov watchdog orgs the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC), says MSN.com.
See, Ash apparently referenced, recommended and generally championed a bevy of media companies and products in the issue, which was devoted to the social media world.
Trouble is, he didn't bother to mention he is a heavy investor in a good number of the companies. There was a clear conflict of interest here and journalistic integrity was compromised, as the New York Times also notes.
