KISS isn't good enough to pay tribute to Michael Jackson?
No, say fans of the One-Gloved-One, who have convinced organizers of the star-studded Oct. 8 show to un-invite the glam-metal act.
Why the negative reaction? Kiss bassist Gene Simmons has made less-than-flattering comments about MJ over the years. He even said he was convinced MJ molested children. (Jackson was acquitted of molestation charges after a 2005 trial in California.)
Global Events Live CEO Chris Hunt said the Kiss booking was an “oversight.”
"Under the circumstances, we fully agree that even though Kiss is a band Michael admired, we have no choice but to rescind our invitation to them to appear in our tribute concert," Hunt wrote in a statement.
The tribute show, Cardiff, Wales, features headliners Smokey Robinson, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green.
