Simpsons to celebrate 25th anniversary with Lego episode

Things are really clicking for the Lego franchise. After a successful foray onto the big screen in the acclaimed “The Lego Movie,” another familiar group of yellow characters is taking shape on the small screen. The “Simpsons,” who recently released their own Lego set, will celebrate their 25th season with an entire episode of animated Legos.

It’s still unclear whether the episode, which is expected to air in May, will feature CGI Legos like in the movie, or stop-motion animation using real Legos.

Fox has released a number of products to mark its silver anniversary, including Hot Wheels, a Homer Mr. Potato Head, and a Grand Prix racing set. Homer’s Lego hands look perfectly suited for a cold bottle of Duff beer in one hand and a pink doughnut in the other.
