Light Heat at Race Street Pier

Third Thursdays, along the Delaware

Light Heat at Race Street Pier

Quentin Stoltzfus formerly fronted Mazarin, the psych-rock Philly buzz band of the mid-00's that never made another record after 2005's We're Already There. After a lengthy hiatus, Stoltzfus returned this summer with a self-titled album  as Light Heat, working with members of the Walkmen and not missing a beat when it comes to making music that flutters and chimes in a manner that's sure to sound quite fetching along the banks of the Delaware tonight when Light Heats tops a triple bill at the Race Street Pier.

It's part of the Third Thursdays Live and Local series. Psych-rock stalwarts Bardo Pond and, and Chris Forsyth are also on the bill. Music starts at 7. There will be a free beer garden brought to you by Philadelphia Brewing Company. Show details are here.

That's Stotzfus acting like Bob Dylan in the promo clip below, and Light Heat's "And the Birds" beneath that.
