Comedian Margaret Cho took an interest in the Mummers Parade on Saturday, going on a Twitter retweeting spree that did not reflect kindly on the Mummers to her 418,000 followers. Cho started tweeting about the Mummers after Gay Star News picked up wrote a story about the parade and it's "anti-gay and racial bigotry":

Cho, a noted LBGT activist, retweeted examples of the brown face used by the Sammar Strutters and a skit that mocked Caitlyn Jenner by Finnegan NYB (they later apologized for a member whose homophobic slurs were caught on tape.

Daily News columnist Stu Bykofsky was also brought into the fold:

He responded in kind:

I hear Margaret Cho has attacked me. Check the tattoo jungle and tell me she should be taken seriously. (Nice dog, tho.)

Cho didn't comment directly on the Mummers herself but did tweet:

Her rep declined further comment.

Cho is not new to Philadelphia current events. She took to social media when it was announced that Philip Williams, 24, of Warminster, and Kevin Harrigan, 26, of Warrington, involved in the Center City gay bashing case took a plea deal and would not serve jail time.
