6ABC's Eva Pilgrim heads to ABC News

Former 6ABC Eva Pilgrim is joining ABC News

6ABC's Eva Pilgrim just got the call to go to the big leagues. On Jan. 4, she'll join ABC News as a correspondent. Pilgrim's last day at 6ABC is Jan. 2.

Pilgrim joined 6ABC in 2012, and she's served as both an anchor and a reporter. In a statement, ABC News President James Goldstein, who referred to 6ABC as a "powerhouse,' praised Pilgrim's work on the Amtrak derailment and Pope Francis' visit to Philadelphia, as well as her investigative work. Goldstein also added some fun facts about Pilgrim: "While at the University of Florida, Eva was a member of the debate team and still loves a good argument. She is a self-proclaimed chemistry nerd. When not at work, she enjoys playing the violin and riding her motorcycle."

A motorcycle?! Eva, we hardly knew ya!

“We are excited for Eva and very happy that she is staying in the Disney/ABC family," said 6ABC President & General Manager, Bernie Prazenica. "Eva made a great contribution to Action News and we will miss her but we look forward to seeing her back on 6ABC in her new role very soon.”
