In today’s paper, I wrote about a former repo man named Ray Goodman who used to “take a lot of stuff from people.” He’s now on a totally green quest to help us all give stuff back – to the Earth. And he's going to bring Earth to Philly readers along for the ride - that is, for the walk.
Ray, 38, leaves today on the first leg of a 10,000-mile, two-year walk around America, to raise funds for the Sierra Club and our own awareness of what’s at stake in this country if we don’t start taking better care of the planet.
The title of his mission: “Ray’s Hike for the Sierra Club” (look for it on Facebook as his journey unfolds).
The Lansdowne native will be e-mailing me letters and photos about his travels, which he will forward to me here for occasionally posting on Earth to Philly. So look for perspectives here, starting sometime in mid-May when he reaches Damascus, VA, the official starting point of his most excellent adventure.
