Who doesn’t want to dress a little trashy sometime?
In honor of Earth Day this coming Thursday (April 22), students at Moore College of Arts & Sciences will again take this concept to a whole other level as they stage their 13th annual Trash Fashion show.
Students will construct and wear garments made out of such materials as newspapers, shower curtains, soy packets, phone wire, old CDs and other recycled products.
Should be a hoot! Maybe it’s because I love newspapers so much, but I always get a kick out of seeing them fashioned into handbags, home décor or whatever. It's amazing how versatile used newspapers, chewing gum wrappers and other throwaways can turn out to be.
Show times are at 11:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. The events, which will be held in the great hall at 20th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, are free and open to the public.
