Drexel’s first round NIT opponent is the University of Central Florida from Conference USA.
The game will be played 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday at Drexel.
UCF went 22-10 overall and finished third in the conference with a 10-6 mark. The Knights lost to eventual conference tournament champion Memphis, 83-52, in the semifinal.
Keith Clanton, a 6-9 junior, averages a team-high 14.6 points for UCF.
What is interesting is that if Drexel wins and second seeded St Joseph’s beats No. 7 Northern Iowa, then the Dragons and Hawks would meet in the second round.
