Inside what used to be the cavernous, ornate board room of the former Insurance Co. of North America, Wynn Resorts has set up its “war room,” outfitted with floor-to-ceiling banners listing the pros and cons of each of the six contenders for the city’s second casino license.
Two weeks ago, we reported in The Inquirer about efforts by groups competing for the city's second casino license to win over neighbors. They are doing so with charitable donations, outreach to neighborhood groups and special events.
Right now, everyone is promising the moon and the stars with their casino plans.
But what does Mayor Nutter want?
Of all the groups vying for a casino license, the Market8 project is the only one that sits smack in the middle of Center City. On Monday, the folks behind it announced a “rewards” program to capitalize on its location at 800 Market Street.
