A few things to watch (or feed your DVR).

Remote Possibilities: 'Mythbusters' go crabbing

"Mythbusters" (9 p.m., Discovery) does a crossover of sorts with another popular Discovery show in "Deadliest Catch Crabtastic Special," with "Catch" captains Johnathan Hillstrand and Scott Campbell Jr.

Among the investigations: Will a crab pot drag you overboard and to the bottom of the ocean if your foot gets caught in a coil? News you can probably use before embarking on your next crab-fishing expedition.

You may also want to check out:

-- "Secrets of the Dead: Death on the Railroad" (10 p.m., WHYY 12). The series looks into the case of 57 Irish immigrants who were brought to Chester County to lay tracks for the railroad and ended up being buried anonymously, in 1832, in a ditch outside Malvern.

-- "Nashville" (10 p.m., 6 ABC). Now that FX's "The Americans" is between seasons, I finally get to watch Connie Britton in real time. In Wednesday's episode, Rayna (Britton) and Juliette (Hayden Panettiere)  are both nominated for Country Music Association awards. And, yes, those are  the same CMA awards that air on ABC.

About this blog
As the TV critic for the Philadelphia Daily News, I've always believed my job is less about thumbs -- up or down -- and more about the conversation. Because the more choices we have, the fewer people in our lives know what we're talking about when we say, "Did you see that?" And that's when television really starts to get interesting.
