'Portlandia: The Tour' adds Philly show

"Portlandia," the IFC show starring Fred Armisen ("Saturday Night Live") and Carrie Brownstein, is on  a tour, and with the first two weeks sold out, it's added a third week, starting with a Feb. 19 stop in Philadelphia, for which tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday.

From the IFC announcement:

"The second season of Portlandia premiered last Friday and is one of the most talked about series of the New Year with Salon calling it the 'smartest sketch comedy show on TV.'

"'Portlandia: The Tour' features Armisen and Brownstein, the co-creators, writers and stars of Portlandia, bringing their romanticized and dreamy rendering of Portland, OR to life. They perform live music, present special clips from the show’s second season, share personal anecdotes about the creation and inspiration of 'Portlandia' and even bring along surprise special guests in each market."

About this blog
As the TV critic for the Philadelphia Daily News, I've always believed my job is less about thumbs -- up or down -- and more about the conversation. Because the more choices we have, the fewer people in our lives know what we're talking about when we say, "Did you see that?" And that's when television really starts to get interesting.
