Gabrielle Giffords Monday night by pitting it against one with accused Penn State pedophile Jerry Sandusky on its fledgling news magazine "Rock Center with Brian Williams" didn't work out quite the way some expected. According to the preliminary Nielsens, ABC's Diane Sawyer interview with Giffords and her astronaut husband Mark Kelly about the congresswoman's continued, astonishing recovery from being shot in the head, averaged nearly 13.4 million viewers. Fewer than 5 million listened to Sandusky tell Bob Costas that he'd been known to "horse around" with boys in showers, while denying that he'd had sex with any of them. Oh, and some 11.5 million watched CBS' "Hawaii "Five-O," which won the hour among viewers 18-49.
