Casey who? 'Today' snags 'Octomom'

The Casey Anthony trial is over and the battle of the network "gets" has resumed. The Casey Anthony trial is over and the battle of the network "gets" has resumed.

About the time portions of Barbara Walters' interview with Anthony lawyer Jose Baez were to be airing on "ABC's World News with Diane Sawyer" last night, NBC was announcing it had snagged another infamous mother: "Octomom" Nadya Suleman.

Suleman talks to "Today" co-host Ann Curry tomorrow morning in what the network's billing as the mother of 14's "first-ever live in-studio interview with her octuplets." (Also along with the eight 2 1/2-year-olds: Suleman's two oldest children, Elijah, 11, and Amerah, 10.)

"Additionally, Amy Robach talked to Suleman and her 14 children in their first at-home interview since the octuplets were infants," says NBC's announcement, and gets "an up-close look into her La Habra, Ca. home, which has visibly deteriorated." (Portions of that interview were to air this morning on "Today.")

On a slightly happier, but  no less sensational note, Diane Sawyer's exclusive interview with kidnapping victim Jaycee Dugard airs from 9-11 p.m. Sunday on ABC, which last night released excerpts.

"Now I can walk in the next room and see my mom," said Dugard, who was held for 12 years and is the mother of two children fathered by her captor. "Wow. I can decide to jump in the car and go to the beach with the girls. Wow, it's unbelievable, truly."

More on Sawyer's interview, which is being described as "an intimate conversation" (tied to the publication of Dugard's book, "A Stolen Life") can be found here.
