And now the moment America's TV critics have been waiting for all day: Oprah's onstage, taking questions. The Queen of All Media -- and founder of OWN, the six-day-old Oprah Winfrey Network -- is in royal purple (and open-toed Christian Louboutin heels) as she settles into a white armchair and quips, "It's like being thrown to the wolves." Some wolves. First question: "I'm just wondering: Are we all going to get cars?" "That would've been a good audience breaker," she replies. "Sorry I didn't think of it."

About this blog
As the TV critic for the Philadelphia Daily News, I've always believed my job is less about thumbs -- up or down -- and more about the conversation. Because the more choices we have, the fewer people in our lives know what we're talking about when we say, "Did you see that?" And that's when television really starts to get interesting.
