New Adidas chain shoe causes ruckus

Critics are calling Adidas' new JS Roundhouse Mids slave wear. To me, these monstrosities with their matching ankle chains look more like jailhouse chic than anything. Just the thing to wear with sagging pants. What's next? Neon-orange jumpsuits as streetwear? How about some matching wrist chains?
Excuse my sarcasm, but something tells me that when these shoes go on sale in August, they are going to fly off the shelves even with all the complaints and tongue wagging about slave connotations.
That's my opinion. What's yours?

Comment removed.- A few years ago, there was an exhibit at the Constitution Center where real slave shackles were displayed. I couldn't take my eyes off of them. It was a chilling experience. It was hard to believe these were actually attached to a human being.— mfecani
