Facebook Reverses Controversial Policy

“Over the past few days, we have received a lot of feedback about the new terms we posted two weeks ago. Because of this response, we have decided to return to our previous Terms of Use while we resolve the issues that people have raised,” the company set on its own home page.

Three cheers for Facebook. Because you shouldn't have to worry about something you once shared online years after you've moved on to another networking site. You shouldn't have to worry about your personal photos, artwork or whatever winding up in commercials or used in any other way with without your consent.

Sure Facebook's head had indicated that that was unlikely to have happened, but there's nothing like a little reassurance in terms of making it company policy that it wouldn't happen. Now, excuse me while I go and change my status update and friend some more folks....
