Bernie Mac: Just Joking

You give Bernie Mac a microphone and guess what? He acts like Bernie Mac. That means he's crude. Kind of sexist. Politically incorrect. And did I mention hysterical? So, why were Sen. Barack Obama's folks taken aback about his performance at a $2,300 per person fundraiser? From what I hear, Mac raised more than a few eyebrows with his remarks about "hos" and some of his other humor. When Obama took the stage, he chastised the comedian saying, "We can't afford to be divided by race. We can't afford to be divided by region or by class and we can't afford to be divided by gender, which by the way, that means, Bernie, you've got to clean up your act next time," Obama said. "This is a family affair. By the way, I'm just messing with you, man."

I say, good for Obama for calling Mac on some of his raunchier material, but not completely throwing Mac under the bus as they say. After all, this is Bernie Mac that we're talking about. You can't take him but so seriously. The man's a comedian for goodness sakes.
