Shame on Paula Deen

Whenever I used to think of TV chef Paula Deen, the word excessive would come to my mind. That’s been replaced now with another term - hypocrite. Deen knew darn well about her Type 2 diabetes, a disease complicated by the excessively rich food she’s known for, but didn’t say a word about it until after she had a deal with a drug company to hawk its anti-diabetes product. That’s low. Nobody should be telling anyone to deep fry cheesecake or lasagna. I don’t care what that stuff tastes like. You’re supposed to eat to nourish your body, not so you have a food orgasm. A friend says I'm being too harsh. But I think Deen deserves every bit of backlash she’s getting, do you?

Yes, Shame on her because:
1) she promoted unhealthy food while hiding her disease for three years
2) she has contracted with Big Pharma to hawk a diabetes drug that carries the strongest FDA warning about cancer risk and will make big bucks from it
3) she is anti-worker; a spokesperson for Smithfield (a company that treats its workers like s**t and sells unhealthy food).
That's three reasons, none of which have anything to do with her personality (southern) or body shape (obese).
It's the hypocrisy and the crass commercialism. JeffJenk
JeffJenk said it well! Thank you for your comment! Jenice Armstrong
