When will McNabb deal happen?
Daily News
From reading the comments on our previous posts, we get the sense a lot of you are already tired of the rampant discussion and unsubstantiated rumors about where Donovan McNabb will be traded. And we don't blame you.
Today, we will take a different tack on the McNabb conversation. Not about where he might land, but when he will land somewhere, if he is even traded at all. Making a move with the quarterback will help dictate a lot about the remainder of the Eagles' offseason, especially if they get a high draft pick in return or a player at a position of need, or both.
The Eagles have insisted they are not done building this team. Even Andy Reid conceded last week that they had more work to do. He said the team was ready "to compete," but the issue really is whether they can contend.
At right is a poll with some possibilities, ranging from being traded in the immediate future to not being traded at all. Obviously, the two key dates to consider here are the start of the NFL draft on April 22 and the date McNabb is due a roster bonus of more than $6 million, which is May 5.
So, cast your vote in the poll or leave a comment below or both.

The big NFL story of the day is quarterback Sam Bradford's Pro Day at Oklahoma, which got underway a short time ago. Many big names are in attendance among the 50 or some team executives, including four representatives from the St. Louis Rams, who have the No. 1 pick overall. That includes general manager Billy Devaney and head coach Steve Spagnuolo.
According to Yahoo Sports' Charles Robinson, Eagles offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg is also in attendance.

Another interesting nugget on the quarterback trail in terms of the draft is that Tim Tebow was in Buffalo last night and had dinner with Jim Kelly. The best part of this is that it was revealed by his wife Jill on her Twitter page.
Of all of the bad articles I have read on this website this one really takes the cake. Yes, we are tired of all of these McNabb trade speculations. Yes I know when the NFL Draft is. Yes I know McNabb is due a roster Bonus. Now if I could only put them together in a way that would waste anyone who reads it's time with another empty post. GREAT SUCCESS!!! whiskeybill
"Today, we will take a different tact on the McNabb conversation." My, what a telling misspelling: "tact" for "tack". There's nothing remotely tactful in this entire discussion re trading #5. It's a journalistic Dead Horse that keeps getting flogged, article after article, because sportswriters have got to write something. Every rumor of "the trade" has been denied by the teams involved, but that doesn't stop the articles, does it? How ironic it is that this extended hoopla is so lacking in class--let alone, "tact"--when the subject of it is a man who embodies class and tact. For shame! rad205

For shame! rad205- Like I've said time and time again, when we hear of the REAL trade of Donowhine McSlab, THEN and only then will it be time to rejoice. Right now all the media is doing is teasing us like Donovanisthedumbest does when he stays quiet for days on end........
They will not win the Super Bowl [or two playoff games] this year so who the heck cares... baseball next week and no more of my money to Lurie! Skena
They'll trade McNabb for a 7th round pick in the days before the 2013 draft. MikeP
Eagles organization kinda blew it by putting the asking price too high for McNabb in the early stages. Most of the teams that needed changes at QB made their moves as the Eagles stubbornly held their position. Then Reid pops out last week like Groundhog Day and lets the Football world know hes ready to deal. The deal has to be done before the draft; I get the feeling it will be done before Easter weekend, like Thursday. The way this is going, its about as good a day as any. watsonmr
bleed green check NFL.com again....only a couple teams have openly expressed interest in Dmac. certainly not all the ones you listed. methinks you value Dmac a lot more than the league...what you saw was speculation mostly. not quotes from teams IcanTakeit
Nice to know that you on the EAGLETARIAN blog are a bunch of anti-Christian bigots, how dare you mock my faith and shame on you who go out of your way to be so PC...if Tim was anything other than a Christian you would be afraid to write such garbage...you call yourselves sports writers...where is Bill Lyon when we need him! I love the moronic commments like Tom who say that Reid and Banner "know nothing about football or what the fans want." First, I guarantee Tom is not making millions of dollars a year in a career in football, so I'd venture to say it is guaranteed that Reid and Banner know a whole lot more about football than any of us do! Doesn't mean they are always right, that's why coaches and GMs get fired. But they still know more than we do. Second, when are you going to get it that no one cares what the fans want? It's not a popularity contest! Football is a business. If they cared what the fans wanted, they wouldn't have signed Vick! 4rosco
The Eagles have to big coals in the fire. First whether Farve retires or not and second whether Ben Rothesberger is charged. If either of these happens the Eagles will be getting a first rounder for McNabb. LGbalsac
What deal...EAGLES blow this smoke every year..never would they do something that the public [fan base] would have any knowledge of Big Red is NOT, repeat NOT, going to trade his boy, #5 , the yes guy he is....they just keep your interest, tease you, they make money...all's good in IGGLE LAND,,,sold-out for years to come..."GOLD STANDARD BABY" PhillyPhilly
Would love to see Donny as started for 1 more year. Then let him be backup for two more until he retires. NCTony
Talk about an organization in disarray. Either trade him or shut up. What will you do if he's back now because you couldn't trade him? Lord, when will this management get traded? I am ready to give them the Ed Wade award for Sports Management Success....... bmcw
