Vick's 'incredible story' back in prime time

POSTED: Saturday, November 20, 2010, 4:00 PM

The Eagles return to prime time on Sunday against the Giants. The game airs on NBC.

Here are some thoughts from NBC's NFL team on the game, plus a video preview below:

AL MICHAELS ON THE EAGLES: “It’s pretty evident at this part of the season that some people, after Monday night, feel this is the best team in the league. If they turn in a performance on any given week like they did Monday night, and you can’t get any better than they were against Washington, than they are one of the teams to beat in the NFC.

MICHAELS ON VICK: “I haven’t seen anything like this in years. He begins the season as the backup, and then he wins the job, and then he gets hurt, and then Kevin Kolb looks likes he’s going to return to the No. 1 role, even when Vick gets healthy. And then here comes Vick and he performs the way he did against the Redskins. It’s really an incredible story.”

TONY DUNGY ON THE GIANTS: “They looked liked a different team (against the Cowboys). This is the team we saw in the first couple of weeks, making mistakes, penalties, getting touchdowns called back. The Giants defense gave up some big plays to Dallas, and Philly has some big-play receivers that they are going to have to worry about.”

RODNEY HARRISON ON THE GIANTS: “They’re still a good team, but the Giants, when they’ve had success, play good defense, apply pressure on the quarterback and create some turnovers. And Eli Manning has to take care of the football.”

What does Al Micheals mean, he never saw this before??? Both
Kurt Warner and Tom Brady were backups, projected to be backups
their whole careers, until injury thrust them into the limelight, now it look like both are first ballot
    Hall of Famers.

Considering that Roger Goodell and others in NFL management greased so many skids, starting last March and April, to ensure his comeback with minimal interference/protest, this story is a lot more predictable than incredible. Vick's skills and athleticism are huge moneymakers; there was NO WAY he was going to stay away. The most incredible story of the last 2 years is that Vick's signing caused Howard Eskin to criticize Eagles' management; what could be more "incredible" than that?

If the Eagles win tomorrow, even if by 1 point-the bandwagon will swell to an oceanliner.

The only thing "incredible" about the story is how many losers out there will root for a sociopath because he can throw a spiral. What sad and empty lives those folks must have that their entire identity is wrapped up in whether or not the Eagles win.

I bet Vick could go into ANY battlefield and be a Leader Amongst Men. Even on on the play he got injured in the first Skins game was spectacular and he showed valor that he was willing to sacrifice himself for the team though knocking him out for a month. THEN, on the very next time the teams meet he Rushes for TWO TOUCHDOWNS. THATS a leader. This is possibly the GREATEST AMERICAN COMEBACK Story in History and the "sports journalists" in this city are CLUELESS.

All of you dog sniffing Vick haters need to come back to reality. It's not about the dogs, it's about a human being, and mostly, money. If you PETA Pets really want to make some noise, go down to the deep south and yell in the faces of the hardcore backwoods dog fighters who have been doing this for decades. Even the lawmen in those parts hold no check over this hideous crime. Maybe one of you clowns might get put into the pit with a couple of the fighting dogs. See if you can talk the dogs into leeting you walk away in one piece!

for anybody who ever had question why vick wasn't as successful in ATL I got something for you!!! I want yall to key in why I say roddy white was not ready yet when vick was playing with him. Look at this pathetic coaching staff where are they now and if I'm not mistaken jim mora Jr. was a defensive coordinator who's gameplan was offensive he was fired for what he specialized and Atl gives him the Head coaching job? Give me a break!!! http://www.nfl.com/videos/nfl-game-highlights/09000d5d800598c5/Buccaneers-27-Falcons-24 Watch please!!!

Too Quick Michael Vick!!! The eagles now have a leader in place at the most important position that has all the skills necessary to lead them to a SUPER BOWL. Hold on to your hats this is going to be quite a ride filled with thrills unlike anything we have seen before. Great arm, accuracy, tremendous weapons and a vastly improving defense spell trouble for the Giants tonight, the NFC, and the rest of the league. The Eagles have arrived.
