Michael Vick acknowledged that he was nervous before his first regular-season game in the NFL since December 2006 with the Atlanta Falcons.

Vick was inserted on the second play of the game and finished with 11 plays on the day. He was 0-for-2 passing and had one run for 7 yards. He said he played “fairly well.”

“I would by lying if I said I wasn’t nervous,” Vick said. “I’m usually not a nervous guy … The whole situation causes some butterflies. It was a good thing because I was able to come out and relax.”

“It will be a totally different feeling against Tampa (in two weeks) because I won’t feel like all eyes were on me like they were today. I got out there and got the rust off, knock the jitters out.”

Vick also took several big hits and bounced back.

“I took plenty of hits before,” he said. “I still feel I could take a hit. I got rocked a couple of times real good. That’s what’s going to happen running this offense that we’re running. It’s just football. If I can go out there and just limit it, then I think I can do it for 16 weeks.”

Vick said he thought 10 or 11 plays was the “ideal” number, but said it will depend on the flow of the game. He also said there is much more to come.

“We have so much in store for the future,” Vick said. “We wanted to go out and get some looks and see how they would play it. We have a lot of different variations. It’s going to be exciting.”

Vick also said the bye week will help him get even closer to 100 percent.

“This week is going to be invaluable,” Vick said. “It’s an opportunity for me to get in the book, continue with the workouts, continue to get my body back to 100 percent. I’m progressing. I’m not regressing, which is a big thing.”

You've got to be kidding me. Play by play of such a nothing performance. Vick did nothing to help the birds win. Here you go: Vick hands off electrodes to the guy with the leather mask, he puts them on the dogs nipples... ziiiiipppppppp! Shocking!!!! The dog yelps and crumples the the floor and whines...

We could use Vick's roster spot far better on another position. He stunk the place up.

Vick was Gerbiltastic! Cut all the other quarterbacks, and annoint our hero gerbil man, the quarterback of the future!!! Throw another pit bull on the barbie at the tailgate party!!! Weeeeeeeeeeee!!!! I think I just threw up a little in my mouth. Heinrich Himmler for offensive coordinator. Lets get Pol Pot to run the special teams. Maybe we could get Charles Manson out of stir to coach the linebackers!!! Superbowl bound!

"Im usually not a nervous guy..." Gosh, this guy makes me wanna puke. He is still self-centered and I am dissapointed greatly in the Eagles for letting him play. I can't believe how many losers are defending this arsewipe. No wonder this city is going down the tubes. Thanks Lurie and Co. for making Philadelphia, the most hated town in the world...again. Michael Vick curse still going strong!!! This victory means nothing and everybody knows it. GO GIANTS AND REDSKINS!!!!! SMASH THE EAGLES!!!!

Not ready to write Vick off yet - not a bad performance. But, we need to see some improvement.

I'm ready to write Vick off based on his 2006 season. Be careful not to boo though, because he will flip you the bird.

It took Les only a few seasons after the switch to figure out that there was no penalty box at the Linc, and that the time really wasn't his, despite what Andy Reid kept saying.
