Vick: 'I'm the One Who Lived It'

POSTED: Wednesday, September 12, 2012, 1:12 PM

We don't know that Michael Vick suddenly will start seeing his progressions better, or will stop trying to make impossible throws, when the Ravens visit the Linc Sunday.

We do know that Vick didn't need to hear the blistering criticism that followed his four-interception performance in the opener to want to do better.

Asked about criticism motivating him this week, Vick said Wednesday he is not one to for external motivation. (Plus, it's not like the critics were saying anything untrue.)

"I watched the film," Vick said to a huge throng of reporters pressing in on his locker stall. "I'm the one who lived it. Everyone else just kind of watched it from afar, they're just speculating about it ... I'm the one that's got to deal with it and go out there and make it right.

"This is a game that I love ... every game is not going to be easy, every game is not going to be what everybody thinks [it should be]. Sometimes, it just may not be easy on the eyes."

Meanwhile, Eagles coach Andy Reid said WR Jeremy Maclin (hip) will not practice today. Reid said Maclin is not yet ruled out of Sunday's game, but we sure seem to be heading in that direction, with the Eagles adding WR Mardy Gilyard Tuesday.

Reid said 2011 second-round pick Jaiquawn Jarrett, whom the Eagles cut to bring Gilyard aboard, ought to do better in another type of system. Reid would not discyuss why things didn't work out for Jarrett here, apparently not wanting to harm Jarrett's chances at another chance elsewhere. But he seemed to be saying a team that plays a more traditional box safety might be able to use Jarrett, the 54th player selected in that draft and the earliest-cut high draft pick of the 14-year Reid era.

Andy will just say one of his usual cliche things "I have to put
my players in positions to make plays" so that means Vick throwing
75% of the time with a line that can't hold back water, and then
not let his best offensive weapon Shadey McCoy touch the ball?

How bout this cliche "dumb as bricks" for fatty?

If the Eagles beat Baltimore it will be by a score of 6-3. Good D, no O.

so much hatred - stay off the bandwagon once it gets rolling, and it will roll - the season sure isn't won in September.

    Telling the truth isn't "hate".

Vick is stinkin' it up. He's paid $100M. Time for him to either do his job, or get benched.

Most of the people pulling out the pitch forks and burning crosses just have an agenda. Bottomline is if the interior of that line can take some hgh or something maybe Vick can throw some decent games. Until then, run for your life. The people pulling out the white hoods with the fire sticks and crosses on their chest dont like the rookie too much if they are trying to put him in with this version of the eagles offensive line.

Any pale faced QB will do. Vick led Eagles to comeback win with minutes left in the game and gets attacked. When white QBs like Rodgers, Brees, Manning and others lose klansmen masquerading as fans blame the RBs, the defense or anybody else. How biased can you be? Let the Eagles play the season out and pull your shets from over your eyes. Go Birds!

"When white QBs like Rodgers, Brees, Manning"

The only thing those guys have in common is that they've won the superbowl.

Vick can't even win a playoff game.

    Lol@mikey...

The NFL just started entertaining the black man playing qb. The so called minority has had a 100 year start. lol clown.. Vick was the first qb EVER that was black selected with the first overall pick. The guy that held the title of highest selected black qb ever was well.. Donovan Mcnabb. And that was only 10 years ago. lol Brees, Manning and all those other guys have another thing in common with those superbowls as well. They had the opportunity to play the position. Before that black kids werent even allowed to play qb in pee wee warner. They tried to turn Warren Moon into a running back lol. And he wasnt even a athlete lol. Talk about racism? Really? find some ground first.
