Turn out the lights?

What we're talking about following the Eagles' 13-13 tie with the Bengals:

1. Turn out the lights, the party’s over. With Sunday’s tie, the=2 0Eagles fell to 5-4-1, and their poor play against the one-win Bengals offers little hope that this team can get back on track and make the playoffs.

2. Is that all there is? Almost as stunning as the Eagles’ 13-13 tie to the one-win Bengals, was the fact that most of the Eagles’ players, including quarterback Donovan McNabb, who has been in the NFL for 10 seasons, didn’t know there was only one overtime period in pro football.

3. Short-yardage woes, Chapter 10. The Eagles converted just 1 of 5 third- and fourth-and-one situations against a Bengals defense that was 31st in the league in third-down defense. They threw the ball on 4 of them.

4. Slumping Donovan. For the second straight week, McNabb completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes and averaged less than 6 yards per attempt. He threw 3 interceptions for the first time since doing it against Tampa Bay in October of ’06.

5. The disappearance of B-West. Brian Westbrook once again was a non-factor, collecting just 71 rushing and receiving yards. In the Eagles’ last 3 games, he’s averaged just 3.7 yards per touch and hasn’t had a touchdown.

* The Eagles defense racked up eight sacks on the day from six different players. Defensive end Darren Howard had two sacks in the game and has 5.5 in the last five games. He leads the team with eight this season.

* Cornerbacks Joselio Hanson and Sheldon Brown each registered their first sacks of the season, becoming the 13th and 14th different Eagles to do so in 2008.

* Running back Correll Buckhalter posted the second-longest reception of his career on a 44-yard catch-and-run, which set up an Eagles field goal.
