Training camp questions
Josh Barnett and Les Bowen
Eagles training camp is not that far away. The siren song of the long, hot days at Lehigh is starting to call.
And that means that the answers to Eagles fans' questions will start to emerge. The problem is, what are the questions?
That's where the Eagletarian audience comes in. As you look at this roster, this coaching staff, this division, what are the biggest questions you have? What needs to be answered for you to get a better sense of what this team is and can be?
We ask you this now, because the Eagletarian is going on vacation. We will be back in about 2 weeks to continue
providing you the daily updates on everything Eagles. Until then, the time is yours. Max Bowen, pictured here hard at work, will continue to monitor comments, but he can't seem to get the hang of posting. And he keeps wanting to know why the Eagles cut Zak Collie.
We also want to say thanks ... Eagles fans have embraced our new Daily News Eagles blog since it launched on draft weekend. The response has been tremendous. We have much more in store for you as training camp and the season begins. Stay tuned.
And we leave you with a memorable Eagles moment to savor over and over again ...

I'd like to hear your talent evaluations of Abiamiri and Laws; will both make significant contributions this season? And, do you have enough information to offer an opinion on the other 2008 draft picks re: will they make the team and what will their contribution be? paul hs
Jerry Jones is NOT a winner. He's a buyer, much like Snyder with the Skins. They have spent way too much money over the years trying to buy a SB with absolutely ZERO success. Jones isn't squat without Aikman, Emmett, and Jimmy. How many playoff wins have they had in the last 10 years??? None, nada, zip. I despise the Cowboys as well, but as much as I hate to admite it (gulp), I'd rather have things the way they are with J. Laurie (gag, gasp, cough) than J. Jones. It's Andy that needs to make the change. The definition of stupidity is doing the same thing over and over and over, and expecting a different result. FrankieDaFace
My 5 Questions about the Eagles:
1. Will Donavan Mcnabb be healthy all season?
2. Will Brian Dawkins, William Thomas and Jon Runyan have enough left in the tank if this team does make it to the playoffs?
3. Who is going to catch the ball in the Red-Zone?
4. Can enough of these young offensive linemen play well enough to keep Winston Justice off this team... so we won't need to watch the "Sack McNabb" show if any of the starters go down?
5. How much playing time will Lito Shappard get with the Eagles? Is there any chance we can add a few insentives to Lito's contract and move Brown to Safety?

Here's a question that I'm hope will be easy to answer come training camp: Why did we draft a 230 lbs. defensive end in the 3rd round of the 2008 draft? BFrank

will the eagles make any more big moves during training camp? all the roy williams, anquan blodin and fitzgerald talks have died down but with a legitimate WR the eagles can be a threat and a SB contender. EagleSuperfan
T.O. isn't here because his and his agent's ego and greed ran him out of town. Teams don't renegotiate contracts after one year. Too many ppl keep whining about a # 1 receiver. Every win will be followed by a "Yeah but..." and every loss with "I told you so". The teams biggest weakness last year was special teams. That's where they concentrated this year. And not just a returner....overall. Drafting guys like Jackson and Demps.....free agents like Klecko and Lawton were in part done to improve special teams play. I don't know if Klecko and Lawton make the team but I do expect special teams to be vastly improved. bleedgreen
How can AR sign Dan Klecko to play fullback, and without putting any pads on and just running around in shorts and a helmet, determine he can't play fullback and will compete at DT, where he will probably get cut in camp or shortly after? If AR knew he needed a fullback and wasn't going to re-sign Thomas Tapeh, then why didn't he just draft one, he had enough picks? billro3
How much does Dawk still have left in the tank? occasionalpost
every year its the same thing.we need a playmaker at wr,will #5 stay healthy, can we stop the run.it seems the eagles always stay put while everyone else gets better.i think a great idea for the "D" would to start lito and asante at the corners, move dawk to ss and put sheldon at fs.sheldon can cover and he proved he can deliver the big hit.eagles should give it a go in preseason and see how it clicks. fitz
8 and 8 this year, get ready for some lean years ahead!! New QB, New Coach...etc!! eagles2010- I'm losing sleep over Scott Young COskier
The Scott Young situation must be resolved before Lehigh. They cannot have this dark cloud hanging over the team. shoeshineboy
