Bret Munsey, who guided the Soul to the 2008 Arena Football League title, has been hired as a scout for the Eagles, the Daily News has confirmed through a league source.

Munsey most recently was the coach for Orlando of the AFL in 2012. He will work the mid-Atlantic region of the Birds’ college scouting department.

Munsey was the Soul’s coach from 2006-08. His first child, son Graydon, was born the same weekend the Soul beat San Jose for the ArenaBowl title. A lockout by owners forced the cancellation of the 2009 AFL season and Munsey had moved on to the outdoor UFL when the Soul resumed playing in 2011.

Neither the Eagles nor Munsey immediately returned a message left by the Daily News for further comment.
