Tix Gone, Maclin In, More on Watkins

The Eagles announced this morning that single-game tickets once again sold out in minutes, reassurance that the 136-day NFL lockout had no lasting effect on the fan base, and a reflection of fan excitement over the team's bold moves of the past week. In a statement noting the sellout, Eagles president Joe Banner said: "Season ticket renewals, waiting list applications and single-game sales show that Philly fans are ready for some football. And we're highly motivated to give our fans a great season on the field."

The team has the day off from training camp today. Just-signed first round pick Danny Watkins reported last night and wanted to get going with offensive line coach Howard Mudd today. Watkins got a $6.6 million guarantee in a four-year deal worth just under $8 million, sources say. Watkins' agents did not get the fourth-year guarantee they were seeking, but they did get more money than projected for the 23rd draft slot, they say, a concession the Birds made Monday that helped the deal get done.

Joining Watkins in camp on the day off is wideout Jeremy Maclin, who also missed the first five days of workouts. Maclin was excused with an illness, the team said. No word yet on whether Maclin will be able to practice tomorrow, when workouts resume.
