You sorta knew this wasn't going to take long ... First, Shawn Andrews return to Twitter and then this ...

Andrews made his debut with the Giants, in for about 16 plays at left guard in a preseason game against Baltimore, and has declared that the Giants feel like home.

"It just felt good to run back out, even though I’m at my new home with the G-Men,” Andrews told the The Star-Ledger, of Newark. “I have to say it feels much more of a family atmosphere than what I’m used to in the past. Just starting with that in the locker room and then running out there, it’s an unbelievable feeling.”

Andrews was planning to work with the coaches today while the team had the day off to continue to learn the offense and said he thought he would catch on quickly.

Shanahan unsure on McNabb for Redskins opener

“It just feels like home,” Andrews said of the Giants. “And I’m not just saying that to say the right thing. It really does. And I told the offensive line guys that. You can tell everybody is sincere and want to be here and work together. I can’t say it’s been like that my whole career.”

As far as other ex-Eagles, Redskins coach Mike Shanahan said it was possible that Donovan McNabb could miss the season opener against Dallas with a foot injury.

McNabb has not practiced since suffering the injury against Baltimore in the second preseason game.

Asked if McNabb's status for the opener was in jeopardy, Shanahan said, "I really don’t know for sure. That is why it is day-by-day and we just need to see how it goes. Hopefully it won’t be.”

It seems unlikely that McNabb would play in the fourth preseason game, Thursday against Arizona, although Shanahan was not giving that away either.

“Donovan, I think, is a little bit too sore right now. I am not really sure about playing him, but I should find out more tomorrow."

Looking ahead to the Packers, coach Mike McCarthy said veteran Daryn Colledge will start over rookie Bryan Bulaga at left guard against the Eagles on Sept. 12, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Bulaga has missed practice and a presason game with a hip flexor injury. He could return as soon as tomorrow.

In another interesting note, starting QB Aaron Rodgers ran the scout-team offense to prepare the No. 1 defense for what it might see against the Eagles. Although a lot of the preparation was geared to the preseason finale against KC, it is unlikely the starters will see much, if any, time.
