Brians Dawkins will be named the NFC Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday, according to the Eagles' Web site.
Dawkins bounced back from a rough game against Dallas to post 10 tackles, including a sack and another tackle for loss, in the Eagles' 15-6 win over Pittsburgh.
The sack in the fourth quarter could be one of the best plays of the veteran's career. He soared over guard Kendall Simmons to swat the ball away from quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and then recovered the fumble to set up the game-clinching field goal.
In other accolades:
Eagles defensive end Juqua Parker was among five finalists nominated for the GMC Sierra Defensive Player of the Week honors. Parker had 2.5 sacks, five tackles (two of them for loss), a forced fumble, a pass batted down and four quarterback hits.
The other nominees are defensive lineman John Abraham of the Atlanta Falcons, linebacker Joey Porter of the Miami Dolphins, linebacker D.J. Williams of the Denver Broncos and cornerback Antoine Winfield of the Minnesota Vikings.
Fans can vote for one of these five players on NFL.com/gmc through Thursday at 4 p.m. The winner will be announced Thursday evening on NFL.com.
Coach Andy Reid was nominated for Motorola NFL Coach of the Week honors. The other nominees are Jacksonville's Jack Del Rio and Miami's Tony Sparano.
