The older brother of Jeremy Maclin said the Eagles wide receiver is "fine" and that an announcement will be coming tomorrow.

Maclin has been sidelined with a mysterious illness. He returned to his hometown of St. Louis last week for additional testing. The Eagles have not commented on the results of the tests.

“When I say definitely, we definitely will have some news tomorrow,” Andre Maclin told The Sporting News. “That’s when we find out exactly what’s going on and when (the Maclin camp) will address it and talk.”

The Eagles had no comment on Andre Maclin's comments.

Andre Maclin said reports that Jeremy's long-term health and playing career are in jeopardy are erroneous. Maclin had been in training camp, but has not practiced. He did not want to comment on his condition, but has said the dire reports and rumors are false.

“They kind of have us on a gag order until tomorrow. ... But he’s fine, he’s fine. That much I can say.”

Asked if he expects his brother to play this season, Andre said, “I’m confident about that as well.”

In other wide receiver news, the contract numbers for wide receiver Steve Smith show that the value of his 1-year deal is $2.281 million.

According to the Newark Star-Ledger, the base salary is $2 million with a roster bonus of $281,250 and a signing bonus of $500,000.

There are a number of hard to reach incentives in the contract, including one that would push his total to $3 million if he has 50 receptions.
