Report: Eagles working out linebacker Leber

The Eagles are working out free-agent linebacker Ben Leber, according to a report from Howard Balzer, of 101Sports in St. Louis.

Leber (6-2, 244) spent last season with the Rams, appearing in seven games with three starts before being cut in December.

Leber, a 34-year-old in his 11th NFL season, spent five years with Minnesota and was a full-time starter for three of his four seasons with the Chargers. He was a third-round draft pick out of Kansas State in 2002.

howie has his eye on one of the guys at subway... great hands and good speed he can get sandwiches to andy real fast and knows the west coast system having just moved here from San Diego. Not sure if he fits a 4-3 but andy likes the five dollar foot longs so he's a keeper.

This guy probably couldn't make it as a player in the SouthWest conference in college football, and the Eagles are working him out.

I think the front office enjoyed "Moneyball" too much. Let's take a bunch of used old parts and build a dynasty! I bet Brad Pitt would do a better job than Big Red

Who knows who they will/won't sign but the biggest joke I keep hearing on here is the comment that the Eagles are cheap or that Lurie is cheap. They may not spend the money wisely all the time but they do spend money.

Ben Leber is better and bigger than any LB we have. At least he will know how to line up. Or do some prefer two LBs line up 2 inches apart, get blocke by one guard and the other LB totally blocked or over runs play. Some people hard to please.

Good point gdibig...remember last year everyone was screaming about how they weren't doing anything in the first couple of days. I'm guessing they're not sitting back doing nothing...and they're definitely pounding some donuts in Big Red's bunker!

WTF?? This guy is 34, cut by the RAMS - yes, those Rams - and the Eagles are even wasting time looking at him??? For God's sake, please stop reporting this kind of idiocy to Eagles fans. Find a street player who is 22 years old and played High School football. That would be a far better move!!!!
