Cole could miss month with calf strain

Eagles coach Andy Reid today said that Pro Bowl DE Trent Cole could miss as much as a month, according to reports, with a "significant" strained right calf suffered late in Sunday's loss to the Niners.
Pro Bowl left tackle Jason Peters' strained left hamstring, suffered on the last offensive play Sunday, could cost Peters "significant" time, too.
King Dunlap confirmed that he will start for LT Jason Peters (hamstring) this week, and expects to start next week, too. Peters is expected to return after the bye.
Reid said in bothCole and Peters' cases, "the next couple of days will be very important." He said both players are "very sore today."
Asked about the importance of losing two Pro Bowl players, one on each side of the ball, Reid said, “I expect other guys to step up and play. If somebody goes down, the next guy steps in and let’s go.”
Also, DT Antonio Dixon tore his left triceps and is out for the season. That makes a total of four defensive linemen (Juqua Parker, ankle; Darryl Tapp, pectoral strain) with injury issues.
Reid said Tapp has made "quite a little bit of progress" and should be out on the field for practice Wednesday. He said Tapp is "very close" to returning.
Parker also is "getting better." Reid said it was unknown yet whether Parker would be able to return to practice.

Actually there is bc3030. Cows, pigs and chickens are slaughtered with some semblance of humane treatment. They are not drowned, slammed by their paws into the ground, have electric probes shoved up their anuses, etc. Nor are they made to tear each other to shreds for the amusement and betting pleasure of their owners until they can no longer perform adequately.
Vick has paid his dues and should be allowed to pursue the rest of his life, but people who cannot get over his past, due to an emotional affection for their pets, should not be called illogical when the behavioral traits he displayed were borderline sociopathic -- which, like it or not, does not apply to meat-eaters nor the farmers who raise the livestock.- Well, you're right as in there's a big difference between torturing dogs and harvesting meat for human consumption. On the other hand, it's hypocritical to act all self righteous about harming animals when animals are harmed everyday so we can eat our cheese steaks and wear our coats, it's apples and oranges. Animals are tortured in the slaughter houses, no doubt about it, no less inhumane the way they are treated.
