After benching Donovan McNabb at halftime and watching Kevin Kolb suffer through a rough second half, Eagles coach Andy Reid now must decide who starts in four days, Thursday night against Arizona.

McNabb finished 8-for-18 for 73 yards with two interceptions and a fumble. Kevin Kolb was 10-for-23 for 59 yards with two interceptions.

The Eagles offense has now gone 99 minutes, 29 seconds since their last offensive touchdown, during the third quarter of last week's game against Cincinnati. They have now scored one offensive TD in 140:30.

After the game, Reid said he had not made a decision about the starter for Thursday.

"It is an understatement to say that was a poor offensive performance," Reid said. "It's not all about one guy. We're all going to sit here and point at Donovan. It's not all about Donovan. We saw that as the game went on ... This is not something that I have made any decision on, if Kevin is the starter or Donovan is the starter. We have a short week. I will think about it and we'll go from there."

Reid said he did not personally tell McNabb about the change and that he planned to talk to him after his news conference. He said McNabb was informed by the coaches.

Reid said a decision will be made by tomorrow. "We don't have a lot of time here."

The coach said he did not think McNabb's confidence will be affected by the benching.

"It's just something I thought that needed to be done at the time," Reid said.

"You sit back an inch and maybe you go forward a mile," Reid said. "I haven't made any decision there. I have to step back and look at it from another perspective. It's important that [Donovan] plays the way I know he can play and the guys around him do the same thing."

As for Kolb's performance, Reid said, "He did some good things, he has some things he needs to work on. That's not an easy thing to do."

After the game, Kolb said: “I don’t know what’s going to happen. I want to get better than today and there is a lot of room to improve … I am really disappointed in myself. I know I am a better quarterback than that … It’s crucial times that count as a quarterback and I did not get it done in crucial times.”

It is all about one man - YOU ANDY! Pack your bags. It is amazing that it took this long for this moron to be exposed on a weekly basis. Lucky for him, he walked in with great talent of the defense, a good D coordinator, and a lousy division.

Exactly. At what point will Reid be held accountable for anything? I don't know about McNabb, but I can say I'm not very confident.

This may be the worst coaching performance in NFL history. The Eagles were still in the game at halftime... when Andy imploded... and it just snowballed downhill from there. It looked to me like the players were losing confidence in the coaching staff.... This team has fallen to the bottom of the NFL...

If the Hindenberg radio announcer visits the Linc on Thursday, he'll say, "Oh, the profanity!"

Lurie needs to Bench Any Reid also. THIS TEAM REALLY REALLY SUCKS. Its time to rebuild so that means it might take them 10 years to get things right. GOD HELP.

You're right you morbidly obese incompetent. It's not all about the QB. It's all about YOU! It always has been. Les, why isn't the press going after this coach?? Today's game was pathetic, capped by a pass six inches from the end zone. Has he won Super Bowls to deserve this hands-off treatment? A disgrace.

"go back an inch"? Are you kidding me, this franchise used to be the class of the NFC and now its the one thing worse than a bad team: a bad team in denial. Reid probably has wanted to be fired since his family imploded. I bet he is the most shocked of anyone that he still has a job. Lurie doesnt know anything about football so we're screwed. Can anyone end this?

I am a long time season ticket holder and I just watched my last Eagles game this year. I doubt that Lurie will miss the couple of hundred dollars that I spend each game, but if there are more like me, maybe he will wake up.

When are the eagles going to get with the program and actually run on 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1? Why are we still passing on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1? Andy Reid keeps setting his team up for failure and then benches evrybody for his shortcomings. If the eagles were able to convert their 3rd and 1 or 4th and 1's they would be sitting 9-3 instead of 5-5-1. This game really and truely shows that Andy just deosn't get it. 10-7 halftime score and we get blownout. The defense was playing well today then they saw that McNabb wasn't playing and they just tanked it because the coach did.
    Nothing but the truth

this offense is horrendous...they can't do anything well. who's responsible for that? who's responsible for the game plan? who's responsible for the preparation? oh yeah, AR....start the tape....i'm need to put this guys in a better position; blah, blah, blah.... you can change the players all you want, it's the same sorry song....nothing ever changes

the team left mcnabb short of playmakers for too long. Mcnabb is not good under pressure, he could have used more help and more balanced play calling over the past years.

I'm 45 years old, and I just witnessed the most inept, brutal coaching job in recent memory. In their final year not even Kotite or Rhodes coached as incompetently as Reid just did. Benching McNabb at the half of a 10-7 game? Throwing in a rookie against THAT defense? Cutting the heart out of the defense who had played valiantly for 30 minutes? We saw what Reid will do to Kolb if he's allowed to stick around after this year: 2nd and goal on the one foot line, and he calls a pass play? Wow. That's what we get with a coach who dresses only an injured Westbrook and a gimpy-kneed Buckhalter with no third running-back option. After Buckhalter went down, we had no option on the one-foot line other than to throw a desperation pass with a green QB who looked right at Ed Reed and gift-wrapped a record-setting defensive touchdown. Coaching performances don't get much worse than this. Or do they? Guess we'll find out in four more days. Lurie, please fire Reid and hire Spagnuolo as soon as the season ends. This team is dead, and worse, they appear to have lost all faith in their head coach.
