Cornerback Ellis Hobbs suffered a neck injury and will have an MRI on Monday morning.
The Eagles said Hobbs had feeling in his extremities and X-rays were negative. NBC reported during the game that Hobbs was able to walk into the X-ray room and is wearing a neck brace.
“It looked like it was bad. It doesn’t look like there was a fracture,” coach Andy Reid said. “He’s trying to fight to get up. We were keeping him down on the ground to make sure he’s OK. I am hoping the MRI works out for him.”
Reid said he did not know whether Hobbs had suffered a concussion.
At one point, Hobbs tried to get up, but then returned to the ground and was eventually immobilized and taken off on a stretcher.
“He was upset. He wanted to get up and go,” Reid said. “You have to keep him there and I told him to stay down there and trust the guys that are working with him and make sure everything was Ok. Let’s not do anything stupid here.”
The lone other injury was Juqua Parker, who did not finish the game with a hip flexor strain that had kept him out of practice during the week.
More from Reid …
Overall: “Heck of a football game. It was good to see our team react - a young team against a tough NFC opponent, get down and come back and show that fight. That will help us out down the road. It wasn’t pretty. There was some good individual performances -- Maclin, McCoy, Asante, our o-line and d-line … My hat goes off to the Giants. They have a good football team. They are always knock-down, drag out.”
On surprise at being 7-3: “I expect the guys to play well. MY expectations for them are great. That’s the way we keep it. We go into every game trying to win the football game. I wish we could have had the other three … In life, you’re not greedy. In the National Football League, you are greedy.”
On the run game: “They put an extra guy in the box. You have to still be able to run the ball. I thought it would open some things up in the pass game, but we had a few drops … ”
On the Eagles’ defense: “They were flying around. They were very aggressive … Eli’s been on fire … My hat’s off to our defense for being able to stop them.”
On the Manning fumble: “The guy’s up in the box told me it was a fumble. For sure, a fumble. I thought we’d get it.”
On Asante Samuel: “He did a nice job … I thought he played very well. He’s been playing well all year. He was physical, a couple of big tackles.
On Michael Vick: “This was an important game for him to battle through when a team’s coming after you … to fight, and that’s what he did. That’s the only part we haven’t seen. You have been asking me about that. You saw it.”
