Reid happy with win, not with turnovers
Andy Reid, after the Eagles' 24-23 win over the Ravens on Sunday afternoon, lamented his team's turnovers but was happy with the final result.
"Well, I'd like ot see what it loks like when you don't have turnovers," Reid said. "We could be a very explosive team. The turnovers are the things that get you. You can't do that. We all know that. We got to eliminate that and get better."
Reid paid a compliment to his offense, too. "Michael [Vick] and the whole offense continued to battle," Reid said. "This was aa good football team John [Harbaugh] has. This was a good win for us. We know we're playing a good football coming up in Arizona.
"The crowd was unbelievable. They were definitely the 12th man. Our defensive again played stout and aggressive."
MV7 haters retreat! No turners = 50 pts because Ravens were facing an elite MV7 with great teammates. He's not your daddy's QB, but ask the Ravens if many other QB's could have beat them with a hurting Oline. tony11- That stoooooopid play call at the 1-yard line nearly cost us the game.
- A lot of people saw that play coming. Especially the ones that count, the team in purple. It's the typical "we'll outsmart 'em and throw a pass on the one foot line" play that always ends by blowing up in their face. After 2 fumbles by McCoy, I can see the hesitation there with the game on the line. It's these little itty bitty goofball plays that add up at the end of the year with another super bowl title awarded to someone else.
- That play would have worked if Vick was the kind of QBS that could take a quick THREE step drop and zip the ball in (QUICKLY) to the designated receiver. We all know Vick's passing plays take forever to develop as he drops back 5-7 steps makes his reads, giving the cornerbacks and safeties time to position themselves and thus, turnovers occur. His passes are too flatline. He needs to learn to LOFT the ball more. He flatline trajectories his passes directly to defenders who position themselves in front of his receivers. In those situations, he needs to loft his passes (put a little more air under them) so they sail ABOVE defenders and SLIGHTLY behind the intended receiver. I don't think after this late period in his career if he'll ever develope the "touch" needed to minimize INTs and continue drives without interruption. essell
- The total lack of protection didn't allow Vick to even set up in the pocket. It was atrocious! Unbelievable how he stood up to the test, but if it stays this way too long, he'll either get killed or begin to bail on the play.
Were you drunk when you typed this? gjgreen3
The refs are letting teams get away with a great deal of late and low fits on Vick. He stands in the pocket and gets blasted. adipaolo
Three typos in three short paragraphs? Apparently athletes aren't the only one committing stupid mistakes. But if the Eagles could have those plays over, the mistakes would be eliminated. Doesn't anybody proof read this stuff? Sheeeeeeesh! phillyborn4
All I know is that the Ravens are not a Super Bowl winner with Flacco @ QB. The season is long & I wonder how long Ray Lewis & Ed Reed last & their age factor. Ryans, Boykins are tremendous additions to this team, we live to fight another week. :-) march951
ALL YOU VICK HATERS GET THE HELL OFF THE BOARD YOU COWARDS! RAVEN6
Bring on the cardinals!! i watched this team lose similar close games in the past. this was an elite defense and the eagles won. The offense will get another week to gel and hopefully we can show up against the cardinals. We have to stick to the run and lean on Harbor and Celek. I can see glimpses of something special this defense gives us hope Yes_General
Love the LB play - active, aggressive & they tackle. Give the opposition a 3 yard cross all day long, just get the receiver to the ground. Great job. Mike in LA
I can't stand Vick. Didn't want him and still can't stand him. He's a brainless turnover machine, who is a dog killer
thingfish- Vick had another Red Zone turnover that was terrible decision making, he did recover however and had a decent game. The defense kept us In this game
2-0, good start, long way to go. Still sloppy, keep them working hard this week Andy. Craig321
