Andy Reid spoke at great length to reporters Friday, but nothing he said changed the reality of the 4-10 Eagles' sad sack season.
Reid said it was "hindsight" to suggest that if he had jettisoned defefnsive line coach Jim Washburn (and maybe DE Jason Babin) a lot earlier, his defense wouldn't have looked so helpless for so long. He didn't say it was "wrong," he said it was "hindsight." He also said Tommy Brasher, who has produced eight sacks in two games as defensvie line coach, has "done a nice job."
Reid agreed that getting rid of Washburn's wide nine setup has dramatically helped the safeties, and he said that benefit also extends to the corners.
Reid said running back LeSean McCoy probably will see an independent neurologist for concussion game clearance on Tuesday. Michael Vick and Brent Celek are cleared, Reid said. He said he has not decided whether Vick will be active Dec. 23 vs. Washington; he said he would have to see what the activation picture looks like then at other positions.
