Reid: Maclin has hip pointer
Daily News staff
Eagles wide receiver Jeremy Maclin suffered a hip pointer during Sunday's 17-16 win over Cleveland, Andy Reid said at his day-after news conference on Monday.
"He has a little bit of a hip flexor there, too," Reid said about Maclin. "The hip pointer, with those things they hurt you more the next couple of days. He battled through it. You have to give him credit for it."
Reid did not indicate if Maclin will miss Sunday's game against Baltimore. If he does, Reid said Riley Cooper (collarbone) will not replace him.
"It was good to get a win in," Reid said. "I thought defensively we came out and played very well, really in all phases of defense, against the run and pass. I thought the defense set a great tempo. They played fast and furious football."
Reid also talked about Michael Vick's performance. "Michael took the blame yesterday," Reid said. "It wasn’t a one-man show. Everybody had a piece of this pie. From me to the coaches … to the play-calling, the penalties. … You start looking at 456 yards of total offense and you’re not putting it in the end zone, that’s ridiculous.
"Everybody had a piece of this. It’s always going to fall on the quarterback's shoulders. He takes the responsibility and he takes it to heart. But when you put on the tape, everybody has to do their job."
Maybe these guys should be wearing pads instead of going "commando!" Did you see the Denver receiver cower in pain last night after he banged his knee on the sideline...the knee pad is about the size of a quarter that sits on top of the knee...if they even where them. Is the NFL studying injuries due to lack of padding? There are a lot of guys getting hurt because they're not wearing adequate pads. Simple fix. Wear pads...but, oh, I forget, pads effect movement and speed, or is it more about vanity? Mule53
It'a amazing this team isn't running the ball, more than it passes the ball. Vick is a big threat except when the other team knows he's throwing every down. If they ran the ball they would be extremely dangerous with play action and Vicks legs. Ron
Geez people all you do is complain!! We freakin won the game!!!!!!!!
Sure, THE OFFENSE, NOT JUST VICK, did not play well. I saw Vick getting CREAMED back there on ELEVEN PASSES if I remember correctly.
You CLOWNS want to put in a rookie?!?!?!? Unbelievable.
WHY DOES THIS FANBASE ALWAYS HATE THE STARTING QB? We had McNabb, the best QB in Eagles history and you wanted him gone for years and wanted Feeley, Koy Detmer, and Jeff Freakin Garcia take to his place.
I hate coming on these boards...nothing but egativity, but sometimes I just have to respond. What a sad disgrace of a fanbase..writers too. elijah29- LOL at you using Donovan to try and make this point. If anything, history has proven that the fans were dead right about that whiny loser. And guess what, Jeff Garcia ran the offense better than Donovan ever did. That's what happens when you actually understand the qb position and the game itself. Neither Donovan or Vick have proven capable. Can you imagine either of them going up to the line and making the play decision on each and every play like some of the big-time qb's do?

Also...you clowns complained about Vick not having any 4th quarter comebacks last season...said he couldn't do it.
Yes, Vick had a terrible game and looked rusty (plus Cleveland has an underrated defense).
Vick leads a game winning drive, 91 YARDS, and of course, you complain about that.
You people will not be happy until you get a QB that fits along with the "Rocky" mentality that I assume you "fans" have...which explains why you "fans" hate the starting QB so much.
Just a guess, but seems to be true. elijah29
I'm hoping the members on this website don't represent all Eagle fans, but i swear this website has the most ignorant trolls that Ive ever seen in any teams fanbase. Vick has barely played more than 20 min. worth of football with the entire starting team so how can none of you NOT expect him to be rusty, all of you are to busy worrying about hating on Vick instead of supporting your team and OUR QB whether you like it or not you shouldnt be wishing for Vick to get "sacked" or to just fail in general because his failure is tied in with the Eagles, what kind of fans are you its pathetic. Yeah Vick struggled a little, but honestly what i was more worried about was how poorly he was being defended it was a joke and how no one can seem to point that fact out goes to show your all just trying to find anything you can to blame it all on Vick, even if he wanted to stay in the pocket he couldnt. Dont start judging Vick until this Sundays game, give the guy a chance for christs sake hes our best hope we have this year whether you like it or not, so why not try and support your team instead of bringing them down, weird concept isnt it? @elijah29 and TNEaglesfan, why waste your breath? Haters will continue to hate. That's all they know. No matter if it is Mike Vick or Obama. These haters don't care about football. Its all about hating The Mike Vick Experience! Best believe the Eagles don't care how much the haters whine and cry. Mike Vick will continue to be the Eagles QB and get the Birds to the playoffs. That is the mission! If you haters can't join in with real Eagles fans, STFU! Your dumb chants about Vick and Nick are infantile. GO MIKE VICK GO! Panthro2011
@Panthro2011
I can't help it man. The posts on here are so stupid it's just hard to read. We have "fans" on here that complete idiots...actually WANTING OUR QB TO FAIL, BUT WANT THE TEAM TO WIN.
These "fans", in my opinion, love the underdog QB (Foles, Feeley, Garcia, Detmer, Hoying, Kolb, etc) and hate the guys who deserved to start (Vick, McNabb, Cunningham)
It's unbelievable, and in all of my years of watching football, I've never seen a fanbase like this. elijah29- The fan base just recognizes that the starting quarterback has no chance to win the big game. Cunningham and McNabb could not do it with some of the best defenses of the era. It is obvious that Vick does not have it either. We want a chance to win it all.

This comments in response to articles on this website make me embarrassed to be a Philadelphia sports fan.
Grow up. PhillyIllini
Yeah well when we have the idiots like bedpan and wolf on here I guess you cant really be surprised, those two put together have the combined intelligence of a Giants fan, wouldnt be surprised if thats what they actually were and didnt have anything better to do than flame and troll on an eagles site hahah JpackHB
AWWWWWWWW poor Pigeons! their first injury of the season...its just going to get worse...you losers! MRD
Eagles fans are the worst in the NFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MRD
@Tyrone - Andy cant run anymore LOL. z03mbm
Despite what the stats say, the dog killer is not the third worst quarterback in the league right now. There's at least 5 starting quarterbacks he's better than. Maybe even 10.
And he deserves no credit for the game winnig drive. He choked and threw it right to Fort for what would have been his 5th interception. Pure choking in the clutch right there. He got yet another chance not because he performed in the clutch, but because he had the good fortune of being opposed by an undrafted rookie free agent. atb124
